HEART AND SOUL

VIVA GLAM. We sell it. We give it. We ship it. We use it. VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass works because we believe in it. It celebrates life and the outspoken attitude of the company. It connects all of us (from Artists to the creators of the M·A·C VIVA GLAM campaigns) to our passion in helping people of All Ages, All Races, All Sexes affected by HIV and AIDS.

GOOD SPIRITS

"It was wonderful and felt like, still feels like, a great big old shot of B-12 with some gold in it as it recharged not just our clients but all of us. Renewal and transformation, that's what it is all about. There was a lot of joy in this building and still is...and three of the M·A·C professionals want to be volunteers for MAP. You all did more in 120 minutes to dismantle shame and stigma associated with HIV than some of the great institutions have been able to do. Believe it. Thank you again for your gift."

-Joanne Stevenson Jenkins, Metrolina AIDS Project

It's amazing to see what the gentle touch of a M·A·C Artist can do to restore the look of health. Created by MAF in 2002, Good Spirits is a free pubic service initiative - a personal, customized consultation to explore colours, foundations, concealers, tips and beauty trends that can make all the difference in how a person living with HIV/AIDS looks and feels, elevating self-esteem, a sense of well-being and boosting confidence. More than simply mastering makeup, Good Spirits is about uplifting the state of mind.

AIDS WALKS

"I'm not one for theatrics or gimmicks - so I'm NOT doing the AIDS Walk in high heels. And I've never been grim in my approach to getting people to shell out their hard-earned cash. But I have sent out pictures of my Schnauzer, Linus. He's so handsome and I think puts a lighter spin on fundraising by explaining how he has to take four steps for every one step I take. While there is still loss of life from AIDS, which obviously gets many people out - in their memory, for me, the motivation is about making sure people with HIV and AIDS stay alive and well. Raising money so people can LIVE! Linus and I have walked for the last four years."

-Tim Tareco Vice President, Creative Global Visual Merchandising and Design, M·A·C Cosmetics

M·A·C employees are not only committed to raising money for the M·A·C AIDS Fund through the sale of VIVA GLAM, they also are heavily involved with fundraising for HIV/AIDS organizations in their local communities through AIDS Walks. Each year M·A·C teams participate in AIDS Walk across North America. They show their spirit and heart by raising money and walking with their friends and families to support these local organizations. The M·A·C AIDS Fund is pleased and proud to be able to match funds, dollar for dollar, raised by M·A·C employees who participate in AIDS Walks in the U.S. and Canada.

GLOBAL VOLUNTEER DAY

"The fact that the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS are improved every time a makeup artist sells a VIVA GLAM product has always been a great source of pride at M·A·C. The M·A·C AIDS Fund is truly the heart and soul of our company — there is commitment to the cause at every level. Our deep tie to the Fund creates a great camaraderie and bond among our employees. It is wonderful to see the employees unite time and again on such an important day and lend their time to support the global fight against HIV/AIDS."

-Nancy Mahon, Senior Vice President, M·A·C Cosmetics and Global Executive Director of the M·A·C AIDS Fund

M·A·C employees are known for their style, spirit, soul and passion but most of all, their collective heart! Every year, on World AIDS Day, December 1st, M·A·C employees take off their brush belts, roll up their sleeves, and volunteer at HIV/AIDS organizations all over the world...
They made gingerbread houses in Manhattan
Planted an herb garden in Malaysia
Slept in the snow in Dublin
Served lunch in Los Angeles
Delivered meals in Minnesota
Wrapped gifts in Sydney
Sold teddy bears in Cologne
Designed a mural in London
Decorated faces in Johannesburg
Painted an orphanage and played games with children in Argentina
Did house repairs in Chile
Made-up mothers in Bali

M·A·C EMPLOYEES SPEAK OUT:
"Selling a VIVA GLAM Lipstick is fulfilling. Knowing what the $14.50 can do is amazing. Actually delivering the food that the $14.50 purchased is life changing. Every lipstick I sell has a face and a name, I met those individuals the day I volunteered."

"We were there to give, but we received more."

"Volunteering helped me connect with my inner-kid; it gave me an opportunity to see exactly where MAF money goes. I enjoyed spending more time on the VIVA part of the M·A·C AIDS Fund since my life as an Artist represents the GLAM."
